What to Expect at the 2023 South Beach Symposium Meeting

Article

The 2023 South Beach Symposium meeting begins today in Miami Beach, Florida.

The South Beach Symposium (SBS) meeting was founded in 2002 as a medical and aesthetic dermatology conference that continues to grow in 2023 for its 21st year. Medical and aesthetic dermatology physicians from across the country are meeting up in Miami Beach, Florida, today through February 12th. Over 600 physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, surgeons, and other advanced practice providers will be attending informative sessions and looking for opportunities to network.

This year’s two co-chairs of the 21st Annual South Beach Symposium are Michael H. Gold, MD, and David J. Goldberg, MD, JD, also a Dermatology Times® Editorial Advisory Board member. The theme of the 2023 meeting, “Deeper Than the Surface,” is based on what sets SBS apart from other dermatology meetings, and how SBS delivers equal parts clinical and aesthetic dermatology education.

The annual 4-day conference is full of informative presentations, expert panel discussions, and networking opportunities. The editors of Dermatology Times® will be covering the conference live in person, reporting on numerous engaging sessions, as well as conducting exclusive interviews with key opinion leaders. Some of the upcoming content from South Beach Symposium includes:

  • Artificial intelligence and detection
  • Hedgehog inhibitors for basal cell carcinoma
  • New indications for energy-based devices
  • Benzene contamination in personal care products
  • Precision medicine for patient care
  • Updates in topicals for acne and rosacea
  • LGBTQ+ patients and aesthetics
  • New techniques for facial rejuvenation

See the full SBS agenda here.

Leading industry experts will discuss new data, treatments, and approaches in their respective fields. Specialty sessions will also take place Friday through Sunday, covering topics such as sexual and gender diverse dermatology, hair loss, anti-aging, atopic dermatitis, and a unique cadaver workshop opportunity. The half-day cadaver training course will include a detailed discussion of the anatomy of the face and hand for aesthetic procedures, faculty-guided injection and dermal filler instruction, and more. Make sure to keep up to date with the latest in coverage from the conference and subscribe to Dermatology Times® to receive daily email updates.
