Melanoma Research Foundation Resources for Dermatology Clinicians

Miriam Pomerantz Kadosh, MSW, LCSW, Director of Education and Patient Engagement at the Melanoma Research Foundation, outlines free resources available to dermatology practices and communities.

The Melanoma Research Foundation (MRF) is well-known for offering a range of free educational tools dermatology clinicians can integrate into their practices and outreach efforts. On the heels of Skin Cancer Awareness Month and as the summer months approach, Miriam Pomerantz Kadosh, MSW, LCSW, Director of Education and Patient Engagement at MRF, highlighted peer-reviewed literature, animated patient videos, and monthly expert webinars as available resources MRF provides to clinicians.

Free Clinical and Patient Education Materials

The MRF has developed more than 30 pieces of peer-reviewed educational literature available at no cost for clinic waiting rooms and community events. Animated patient videos are also available to help explain complex topics accessibly.

"We've developed more than 30 pieces of peer-reviewed educational literature covering prevention, clinical trials, and more," Kadosh said.

Sun Aware K–5 Program and Partnership Opportunities

The MRF recently launched SunAWARE, a free e-learning program for kindergarten through fifth-grade students focused on building lifelong sun-safe habits.1

"We welcome opportunities to partner with dermatology practices and communities to expand its reach," Kadosh said.

Clinicians interested in contributing to MRF webinars or expanding SunAWARE can contact the organization at [email protected] or visit melanoma.org.

About MRF

MRF is the largest independent organization devoted to melanoma. Committed to the support of medical research in finding effective treatments and eventually a cure for melanoma, the MRF also educates patients and physicians about prevention, diagnosis, and the treatment of melanoma.2
