Looking outside of the box: Spot melanoma in the 'wrong' places
La Jolla, Calif. - Melanoma can show up in unexpected places - and unlike most skin cancers, these may have little or no relationship to sun exposure. Dermatologists should be aware of these sites, how to diagnose and treat them, and when to refer patients to specialists. That was the subject of a presentation titled "Melanoma in All the Wrong Places" given at the Melanoma 2004: 14th Annual Cutaneous Malignancy Update.
