Dr. Hruza named president of ASLMS

The American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery named George J. Hruza, M.D., president at the organization’s annual conference in April.

Wausau, Wis. - The American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery named George J. Hruza, M.D., president at the organization’s annual conference in April.

Dr. Hruza is a professor of dermatology and otolaryngology at Saint Louis University and director of the Laser and Dermatologic Surgery center in St. Louis. He has been a member of the society for 25 years and has previously held president-elect, vice president and treasurer positions.

Jeffrey Dover, M.D., of Chestnut Hill, Mass., was named president-elect at the convention, and Juanita Anders, Ph.D., of Bethesda, Md., was named vice president. Other new officers include new secretary Elizabeth Tanzi, M.D., and Stuart Nelson, M.D., who was named historian. Mathew Avram, M.D., will continue as the group’s treasurer.
