PDT for Actinic Cheilitis Merits Further Study
DALLAS - Photodynamic therapy (PDT) with topical 5-aminolevulinic acid (5-ALA) 20 percent may offer an alternative for treating actinic cheilitis, although further studies are needed to define usage parameters that will result in acceptably high response rates, Sarah B. Weitzul, M.D., said at the annual meeting of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.
