Oral Peptides, Type 2 Inflammation Top NP’s Horizons Takeaways
At Horizons in Advanced Practice, Evangelia Nezis, NP, shares early results with oral peptides and takeaways on type 2 inflammation and burnout.
Oral peptides are already producing results for patients, Evangelia Nezis, NP, told Dermatology Times NP/PA Connect. Nezis, who is excited to have the option for her patients, shared her reflections at the 3rd
Nezis practices at Schweiger Dermatology Group in Manhattan. She said the meeting also deepened her understanding of type 2 inflammation and gave her practical advice from peers on building confidence and managing burnout.
Early Experience With Oral Peptides in Practice
Nezis named oral peptides as the development she is most excited about. She has been using them in her practice.
“We’ve had great results,” she told Dermatology Times NP/PA Connect. “Patients have really been loving it.”
Type 2 Inflammation and Comorbidities Beyond Eczema
“I feel like I learned so much,” Nezis said of Horizons. She pointed in particular to type 2 inflammation and the ways comorbidities can affect patients.
That learning reached beyond eczema itself. The discussion covered “other issues as well that we can really help to prevent, like asthma and other flares,” she said.
How Peer Connection Builds Confidence and Eases Burnout
Nezis said speaking with peers can be especially helpful, particularly peers who have more experience. From the speakers and the attendees she met at Horizons, she picked up advice on how to interact with patients and how to be more confident in practice.
She sees another benefit in those conversations. “Just even talking to somebody and expressing how you’re feeling can really help with the burnout,” Nezis said.
