Geriatric skin: A clearly unique entity

The field of geriatric dermatology has yet to declare itself its own entity, yet the time is definitely approaching. U.S. census data released this year indicated that the average life expectancy has hit an all-time high at 77.9 years, and the U.S. population age 65 and over is expected to double in size by the year 2030. In fact, the 85-and-over age group is the fastest-growing sector of the U.S. population.
