Cutera Combines CO2 and RF Microneedling in Fraxis PRO

Article

Cutera is launching Fraxis PRO, a single device offering both fractional CO2 and RF microneedling.

Medical aesthetics company, Cutera, is launching Fraxis PRO, a new progressive dermal remodeling technology that combines fractional CO2 and radiofrequency microneedling into a single device. Cutera says the Fraxis PRO can treat a wide range of skin conditions in as little as one treatment.

CO2 fractionally ablates the outermost layers of the skin, while RF microneedling reaches into the deeper dermal layers, treating the epidermis and dermis. This treatment addresses signs of superficial aging, stimulates neocollagenesis, and increases hyaluronic acid production in the skin for a noticeably smoother and more radiant look, according to the press release.

Fraxis PRO has two headpiece sizes for each modality and is able to efficiently treat both the entire face and body.

With many customization options, Cutera says the Fraxis PRO can be used alone or together depending on patient need and willingness for downtime.

According to the release, customization options include:

Fraxis PRO Refine, which uses radiofrequency energy through small microneedles at varying skin depths to address fine lines, large pores, wrinkles, stretch marks, and acne scars. To be used in a series of three to four treatments, this can be used on all skin tones, throughout the year and has little to no downtime.

Fraxis PRO Utra-Light, a CO2 laser peel that provides gentle exfoliation with little downtime and is used to prevent signs of aging or to address current skin issues, including uneven texture, dull skin tone, and overall skin quality. Cutera recommends a series of three sessions for best results.

Fraxis PRO Ultra, a more powerful CO2 peel that can be used to smooth, brighten and enhance tone and texture through a single fractional skin resurfacing treatment. The peel promotes collagen production to help address scarring and crepey skin.

Fraxis PRO Revive, which combines both CO2 laser and RF microneedling in the same session, delivers intense renewal for aging skin. It can only safely be performed on fair to medium skin tones with up to a week of downtime. Cutera recommends one to three sessions.

“The greatest thing about the system is that it delivers the best of both worlds for skin remodeling,” says Ashish C. Bhatia, MD, FAAD, Associate Professor of Clinical Dermatology Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine, in the press release. “Whether you’re treating deep acne scars, just looking for a little firming or a micro-peel, Fraxis PRO gives the flexibility to treat all kinds of patient needs.”
