Valerie M. Harvey, MD, MPH, FAAD, is a dermatologist in Newport News, Virginia, and director for Hampton University Skin of Color Research Institute. She is the president-elect of the Skin of Color Society and serves on numerous boards and committees for the American Academy of Dermatology. Harvey is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.
