Healing Challenges After Facial Rejuvenation

From post-procedure laser to surgical facelift recovery, Dr. Joe Niamtu III offers insight and advice for patient healing challenges in and around the mid- and lower face from wearing a face mask.

When patients come into the practice for full-face laser resurfacing procedures, Joe Niamtu, III, DMD, notes that wearing a facial covering can cause friction, infections, acne breakouts and inflammation in the treatment area. For post facelift surgical patients, elastics can open or irritate stitches behind the ear. He offers several tips for face masks and facial cosmetic surgery recovery.
