The establishment of the Dermatology Hall of Fame

The Dermatology Hall of Fame was established to formally honor the memory and contributions of individual physicians and the revolutionary ideas that have refined the practice of dermatology and continue to inspire, inform and improve treatment. (lenets_tan - stock.adobe.com)

The Dermatology Hall of Fame was established to formally honor the memory and contributions of individual physicians and the revolutionary ideas that have refined the practice of dermatology and continue to inspire, inform and improve treatment.

• A maximum of six individuals will be inducted into the Hall of Fame during any given calendar year.

• Nominations will be researched, gathered and put forth by individuals comprising an Executive Board.

• The Executive Board will individually consider nominees - living or deceased - based on achievements in or contributions to the field of dermatology. These nominees will be compiled and anonymously ranked by The Executive Board as a committee.

• The top 20 nominees as agreed to by a majority of the Executive Board will be presented to a Selection Committee of dermatologists.

• The top 10 nominees who receive a majority vote by the Selection Committee will advance to an open vote by the community dermatologists.

• The top 6 nominees as selected by the open vote will be inducted in that calendar year.

• Once an individual has been nominated, their nomination will remain active for a period of five years, or until such time that they are inducted into the Dermatology Hall of Fame.
