The Visionary
When Ella L. Toombs, M.D., would stroll by her neighborhood food market in Le Droit Park, Washington, D.C., she looked beyond what was then an atrocity. She did not focus on the heavily barred windows that robbed the inside of any light, its worn and rusty red brick exterior and dark, crime-infested aura; rather, she saw how it could be.
