Nonsurgical Treatment of BCC
San Francisco - The topical photosensitizer methyl aminolevulinate, in combination with photodynamic therapy, appears as effective as surgical excision at treating nodular basal cell carcinoma, according to Lesley E. Rhodes, M.D. Data presented at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology also indicates the topical approach yields better cosmetic results.
