New technology heightens diagnostic accuracy, staves off melanoma spread
New York - Over the past few decades, there has been an increase in the incidence of cutaneous malignant melanoma. A cure has yet to found for metastatic melanoma, but early detection and prompt excision can ensure a favorable prognosis - and, says Steven Q. Wang, M.D., new technologies are now available that can improve diagnostic accuracy and help stem the spread of cutaneous melanomas until a cure eventually is found
