Medicare carrier audits: what derms should know
Brett Coldiron, M.D., a dermatologist and clinical assistant professorof dermatology at the University of Cincinnati, Ohio, gets audited everyyear by Medicare. He was so frustrated by the system and what it does towell-meaning dermatologists that he became a master "medical chartsman"and an expert on the topic. Dr. Coldiron frequently lectures on the topicto enlighten his peers about the inevitable audit. He shared some of hisexpertise at the AAD annual meeting.
