Don't Forget the Feet
National Report - A new study has found a significant discrepancy in survival rates between two groups of patients with melanoma. The five-year survival rate of patients with malignant melanoma on the leg, knee, or thigh was 84 percent, while the survival rate for patients with melanoma of the foot or ankle was 52 percent, said Susan M. Walsh, D.P.M., one of the authors of the study.
