Derms search for the root causes of hair disorders
Washington D.C. - Whether patients find their hair rapidly thinning orgrowing excessively, they often find the condition is coupled by significantemotional distress. Dermatologist Jerry Shapiro, M.D., clinical professor,division of dermatology, University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada,spoke at the AAD annual meeting about the symptoms, treatments, and stigmasurrounding the most common hair disorders: pattern hair loss, alopeciaareata, and hirsutism. He said a growing number of treatments are availableto treat these disorders.
