Valeant to acquire Toronto maker of derm products

Aliso Viejo, Calif. - Valeant Pharmaceuticals, based here, will acquire Vital Science Corp., a Toronto-based manufacturer of over-the-counter dermatology products, news source Socaltech.com reports.

Valeant officials say the deal is worth about $10.5 million in Canadian dollars. They expect closing to occur in the second quarter, according to the report.

Valeant acquired two other dermatology firms, both in Brazil, earlier this year.
