Pointers With Portela: Minimalist Skin Care Routines

Blog
Article

In this week’s Pointers With Portela, the 208SkinDoc discusses the effectiveness of a minimalist anti-aging skin care routine for patients.

Dustin Portela, DO, a board-certified dermatologist and dermatologic surgeon at Treasure Valley Dermatology in Boise, Idaho, gives his recommendations for building a minimalist anti-aging skin care routine to save time and money in one of his most recent YouTube episodes, "Anti-Aging Skincare to Save Time & Money."

In this episode, Portela stresses that minimalist does not mean ineffective, and that many of his own colleagues have very simple skin care routines. Portela explains that a minimalist skin care routine is less likely to cause problems or irritation because there are less products and actives interacting with each other.

"The second thing that an anti-aging minimalist skin care routine is going to do is save you money because you're not going to be going out and repurchasing dozens of products on a regular basis," said Portela.

Opinions expressed are that of Portela and do not express the views or opinions of Dermatology Times®.
