- New research suggests astaxanthin is superior to other carotenoids in sun protection, NPI center reports.
According to the study, published in Experimental Dermatology, astaxanthin was tested as an internal sun protectant against beta carotene and canthaxanthin, and astaxanthin was more effective in reducing the UVA-induced stress responses.
