Maui Derm NP+PA Fall Has Begun

Article

The Maui Derm NP+PA Fall 2021 8th Annual Meeting begins today with an in-person, 4-track preconference program at the Omni Grove Park Inn in Asheville, North Carolina. Continue to check in for the next 3 days for the latest coverage of the main program which is from September 30 to October 3.

The 8th annual Maui Derm NP+PA Fall 2021 meeting begins with today’s preconference sessions being held in person at the Omni Grove Park Inn in Asheville, North Carolina. The main conference program starts at 8 a.m. (ET) tomorrow. There is also a live stream of the conference.

The Fall meeting is a part of Maui Derm’s “On the Road” program that aims to bring nurse practitioners (NPs) and physician assistants (PAs) to inspiring locations across the country. The pre-conference day was yesterday, which was called the “Special Pre-Conference Day” for those who attended the conference in person on September 29.

This year, Maui Derm has added a surgical workshop, dermatopathology session, and a connective tissue disorder symposium as a response to last year’s attendees’ requests.

The overall learning objectives of the meeting are:

  1. Explain the pathogenesis of various dermatological conditions.
  2. Cite the mechanisms of action of drugs and therapies that are commonly prescribed by the dermatologist.
  3. Describe potential adverse effects and resistance issues that may be related to the use of drugs and therapies prescribed by clinicians in dermatology.
  4. Describe techniques to avoid and manage potential side effects and complications related to dermatologic therapies and procedures.
  5. Define appropriate outcome measures for the optimal follow-up of patients with dermatologic diseases as well as those receiving surgical and cosmetic procedures.
  6. Assess the data related to emerging therapies for the treatment of a variety of dermatologic diseases.
  7. Recognize the important role of clinician/patient communication.

Follow along with Dermatology Times® as we cover the important updates from the meeting like:

  • New Drugs and Drug Therapies
  • Acne and Rosacea Updates
