Iowa City, Iowa - The National Genecular Institute (NGI) has announced it is creating the largest known global tissue and genetic storage facility here.
The facility will hold biological materials to advance research and development in customized medicine, the company says.
Hundreds of thousands of tissue and DNA samples will be collected, cultivated, stored and sold to third-party researchers for studies into diseases such as Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, certain cancers and multiple sclerosis, according to Genetic Engineering News.
