San Francisco - Syndromic hemangiomas are almost always segmental hemangiomas, associated with a constellation of birth defects probably arising from mutations affecting a developmental field, according to Ilona J. Frieden, M.D., clinical professor of dermatology and pediatrics, UCSF School of Medicine.
