The airport is 14 miles south of downtown San Francisco, in San Mateo County. For public transit information to the airport, contact BART ( http://www.bart.gov/), SamTrans or Caltrain. MUNI does not serve the San Francisco International Airport (SFO).

Public transit
BART provides service to 43 stations including Millbrae, San Francisco International Airport, San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley, Fremont, Walnut Creek and other locations in the East Bay. Hours of operation are weekdays, 4:00 a.m. to midnight; Saturday, 6:00 a.m. to midnight; Sunday and major holidays, 8:00 a.m. to midnight. Trains typically run every 15 minutes on weekdays and 20 minutes on evenings and weekends. Fares are based on distance traveled; tickets may be purchased at stations.
