Getting around town
Airport Shuttle is the official transportation company providing shuttle service for the City of New Orleans to and from the airport. Upon arrival at the airport, guests can purchase tickets for $13 each way from the Airport Shuttle information desks.
Taxicab: Taxicab Rates: $2.50 Drop, $1.20 per mile. Each additional person, $1.
Public Bus: Fare: $1.25; express is $1.50. Transfer: 25 cents. Senior citizens/disabled bus fare: 40 cents. Transfers: free. Schedules available at RTA office, 101 Dauphine, 4th floor. (504) 569-2700. Visitor passes entitle bearer to unlimited ridership on all streetcar and bus lines. Available at hotels and shopping areas. Cost: $5 for one day; $12 for three days.
Parking: Metered parking, available throughout the city, is designed for short-term parking. Downtown meters usually cost a quarter for 15 minutes and are effective from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday - Friday. Parking is prohibited at meters in "rush hour zones" from 7-9 a.m. and 4-6 p.m.
