- A study shows that intralesional etanercept may provide an effective treatment for keloids, according to TherapeuticsDaily.
Investigators tested an intralesional corticosteroid (triamcinolone acetonide/TAC) against intralesional etanercept (Enbrel, Amgen/Wyeth). Researchers found the intralesional corticosteroids down-regulate collagen gene expression, alter glycosaminoglycans and decrease fibroblast proliferation.
