Dermatologist wins $101M in Florida's first Powerball

Tallahassee, Fla.- William Steele, M.D., an Orlando dermatologist, is Florida's first Powerball winner, taking a lump sum of $101 million, rather than $189 million spread over 20 years, according to the Bureau News.

- William Steele, M.D., an Orlando dermatologist, is Florida’s first Powerball winner, taking a lump sum of $101 million, rather than $189 million spread over 20 years, according to the Bureau News.
This is the largest jackpot of any kind awarded by the Florida Lottery.
Dr. Steele was the sole jackpot winner in the Oct. 3 drawing, and turned in his ticket with his wife, who is an inspirational writer and speaker.
