Hydrafacial has announced its latest technological innovation, the Hydrafacial HydraFillic with Pep9 Booster.1 The skin booster utilizes a blend of 9 peptides to target fine lines and wrinkles while hydrating the skin and its barrier.
"Today marks a major milestone for us as we unveil our newest innovation: the HydraFillic with Pep9 Booster—a breakthrough in noninvasive, peptide-powered skin health. It’s delivered via Hydrafacial’s vortex-fusion technology, which ensures those peptides actually reach the layers of the skin where they are most impactful,” Marla Beck, president and CEO of Beauty Health, told Dermatology Times.
Pep9 is Hydrafacial’s proprietary complex of 9 unique peptides that work together to visibly address the signs of aging and strengthen the skin barrier. The technology is combined with a triple hyaluronic acid complex and fruit extracts such as vitamin B5, which promote smooth, supple, and hydrated skin by attracting and retaining healthy moisture levels.
"Peptides can be found all over beauty store shelves,” Beck said. “But not all peptides are created equal. It’s not just about having peptides in a formula—it’s about the right peptides, in the right concentration, delivered in a way that your skin can actually absorb and use them.... [It's a] big difference from just layering a peptide cream on the surface of the skin."
The launch of the HydraFillic technology was supported by clinical research and patient outcomes. Investigators utilized Corneometer, Vapometer, Cutometer, and 3D imaging measurements immediately after the session and then again 24 hours post treatment. Significant improvements in skin firmness, elasticity, fine lines, wrinkles, hydration, and skin barrier health were observed.
"As dermatologists, we can be skeptical. We see new products and treatments all the time—but what impressed me about HydraFillic with Pep9 is the real clinical data,” board-certified dermatologist, Tess Mauricio, MD, FAAD, told Dermatology Times. “After a single treatment, we saw measurable improvements in hydration and skin barrier health, and a visible reduction in fine lines and wrinkles.”
Perception data from 30 patients were collected immediately after a new Hydrafacial session. All 30 participants saw an improvement in the firmness and appearance of their skin. Additionally, 96% observed an improvement in overall skin glow, and 93% said their skin looked and felt tighter, smoother, and more deeply hydrated. More than 80% of respondents expressed that their fine lines and wrinkles looked less noticeable as well.
"Peptides are one of the most exciting—and most misunderstood—ingredients in skincare today,” Mauricio said. “HydraFillic isn’t just another formula making bold claims—it’s backed by both clinical testing and patient perception data. The booster is delivered via Hydrafacial’s vortex-fusion technology, which ensures those peptides actually reach the layers of the skin where they are most impactful."
A Hydrafacial combines 7 therapies into 1 treatment, including lymphatic drainage, deep cleanse with painless extractions, chemical peel, superficial microdermabrasion, skin booster, LED light, and hydration. It is one of the most-used aesthetic dermatology devices in the world. As patients continue to search for noninvasive treatments that create natural-looking results for aging skin, the new booster will help clinicians continue to provide personalized, patient-centric care.
"Hydrafacial’s new booster allows me to offer patients a noninvasive, zero-downtime option to address early signs of aging and skin laxity. Whether they’re post weight loss, preventive-minded, or just looking for a healthier glow, this booster elevates the results I can deliver in practice,” Mauricio said.
