In late January, new guidelines for the management and treatment of acne vulgaris were published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, replacing guideline previously published in 2016.

The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD)’s Acne Guideline Workgroup examined evidence “based on a systematic review of the literature on acne grading and classification, laboratory testing, and treatment using topical therapies, systemic antibiotics, hormonal agents, oral isotretinoin, physical modalities, complementary and alternative medicine, and dietary and environmental interventions."

Since the new guidelines were first announced, Dermatology Times has asked: Have you heard of the new guidelines?

We have seen and heard your insights and questions across our social media channels and in the form of frontline feedback directly from you--our valued readers.

With this in mind, we invite you to respond to our survey, Surveying Knowledge and Views of the Updated AAD Acne Guidelines. Completion of the survey will take no more than 5 minutes of your valued time.

In 5 brief questions, we want to know:

  1. Have you heard about the updated AAD acne guidelines?
  2. What are your initial thoughts on the new acne guidelines?
  3. Do you concur with the recommendations outlined in the new guidelines? Please explain your reasoning.
  4. What aspects of the guidelines are most surprising?
  5. How do these guidelines compare to your current approach in managing acne?

Once you have shared your insights with us via our survey, we also invite you to connect with our editorial team by emailing us at DTEditor@mmhgroup.com. We would be happy to coordinate an interview or invite you to write for our website in order for you to further offer your insights with our readers and your colleagues.

We look forward to hearing from you.
